The lightweight and open design is maintained, complete with the distinctive blue and orange pads. Even the packaging and user manual look like they are from the 70s.

Of course, a lot has happened since the heyday of cassette tapes. The classic headphone jack has been changed to USB-C and the cable now includes a microphone and a remote control. It requires no battery, so there’s no need to charge it or pair it with Bluetooth. Sony also kept the original 23 millimeter driver and tuned the sound to replicate what it sounded like in 1979.

As if that dose of nostalgia wasn’t enough, there’s also a special stranger things edition, which features details inspired by the Netflix series, including an engraved logo and unique packaging.

The Sony MDR-3R is now available for $59.99, while the stranger things The edition costs $79.99.
