Windows privacy settings are also getting a revamp. Permissions for camera, microphone, and location data are organized more clearly and presented with information about how they are used. If you haven’t already, change all the ways Windows 11 collects your personal data.

Microsoft is also improving power management on laptops. The Adaptive Hibernation feature adjusts when the computer goes into hibernation based on the battery level, which should help extend battery life without taking the computer unnecessarily long to wake up. Meanwhile, if you’re having trouble with Windows power consumption on a laptop, use this one-click method that could easily double your battery life.

The update will also include other accessibility changes, such as Windows Magnifier getting more customization options, including separate zoom levels for different screens.

These new features will be rolled out in stages. If you want to try them out early, you can do so by installing the optional October Preview Update KB5127936 for Windows 11 25H2 and 26H2. That preview update also includes other changes, such as a revamped and customizable context menu. Otherwise, you will receive them in the November monthly update.
