The Fitbit Edge will feature a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen and will run Fitbit OS with access to Google Play. It will connect to Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth and, in addition to GPS, will include a variety of sensors including an accelerometer, barometer, altimeter and gyroscope, plus multiple optical sensors to measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and electrical sensors to capture ECG.

The Edge’s fitness tracking capabilities will include tracking steps, distance, calories, skin temperature, sleep, heart rate, and menstrual cycles. You’ll also track physical activities like running, swimming, golf, and more than 40 different exercises with real-time training and personalized fitness programs provided by Google Gemini. The fitness tracker will also detect telltale signs of serious medical conditions, such as atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms, with alerts when detected.

A user-replaceable lithium-ion battery lasts up to seven days, but that duration will be reduced to up to two days with the always-on display. The Fitbit Edge will also feature an IP68 water resistance rating and is expected to launch in four color options like the Pixel Watch 5, including Obsidian and Matte Black, Olive and Satin Pyrite, Gunmetal and Champagne Gold, and Fog and Polished Silver.
