Who is this for? Plugable’s base is slim, compact, and to the point: it gives you what you want and not much more. I really like the two dedicated HDMI display ports and the additional Thunderbolt4 upstream port, which can be used to connect a monitor or for additional expansion.
Why is this deal good? I’ve seen mainstream Thunderbolt 4 docks priced from $225 to $250, and it’s great to see a focused Thunderbolt 4 dock come in at a price well below that.

I really want to buy a new OLED display for my desktop, but the problem is that OLED displays with stunning blacks and high contrast are not available in the format I would like: large, 4K, and high refresh rate. So you have a choice: go down to a 1440p display with a slightly lower resolution or choose a more traditional IPS panel… which, to be honest, works fine.
High refresh rate OLEDs are generally considered “gaming” monitors, even if you use them for normal work.
