Apple will launch Apple Intelligence in China with iOS 27.3, the company announced on its Chinese editorial website, as reported MacRumors. Apple Intelligence features will be available first in a beta version of iOS 27.3 launching on November 4, with a full version of iOS 27.3 scheduled for December.
This release does not bring the new Siri AI to China. Instead, Apple is launching several of its previous Apple Intelligence features, such as notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and review tools, visual intelligence, and removing objects from photos. Apple also says it has worked with Ailbaba to add support for its Qwen chatbot in some experiences, which sounds similar to the iOS integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT that launched in 2024.
Apple Intelligence was approved in China in July, signaling that the launch of AI tools was approaching. Apple formed its own LLM specifically for China, Reuters reported in August.
