According to a post on Apple’s developer site, Siri AI is finally We will make this vision a reality with beta versions 27.3:
Today’s preview allows any app to bring its content and actions directly to Siri AI using App Intents, making it easier for all apps to take advantage of Siri AI’s newest capabilities, including understanding personal context, on-screen awareness, natural language, and more. So people can simply ask for help in their own words, and Siri AI carries out any custom action you’ve created, from checking a delivery to making a reservation to placing an order. For complex requests, we’re also introducing skills that will let you teach Siri AI how to combine multiple actions into a single experience. And Siri AI can now display any entity in Spotlight’s semantic index, not just those that fit an existing schema.
The new beta previews allow developers to integrate their apps into Siri AI, allowing users to access data and perform actions. Developers can create custom actions for users and add skills that teach Siri how to combine multiple actions into a single request.
The blog post calls this a “sneak peek” and a “first look,” so it’s not yet clear when regular users will get this experience. Currently, developers can build apps using these intents and skills and test them with Xcode or internal versions of TestFlight, but they cannot yet publish apps that use these features to the App Store or test them with external TestFlight users.
It’s likely that app developers will be able to release their Siri AI-enabled apps with the OS 27.3 updates released to the general public (we expect it to be late November or early December), but that depends on developer feedback and testing. Still, this is the first time developers have had real access to integrate their apps with the new Siri, and once released and widespread, it may change the way we use our iPhones, iPads, and Macs forever.
