The current iPad mini uses an A17 Pro processor, which was the previous generation’s processor at the time of its release. The current A19 Pro processor is incredibly powerful and would give the iPad mini an incredible speed boost and 50 percent more RAM – 12GB versus the A17 Pro’s 8GB.
The landscape camera would also be a significant improvement, as the iPad mini is the only Apple tablet that still features a portrait-style camera. That redesign will likely coincide with an upgrade to an OLED display that’s been rumored for some time. It has also been reported that Apple plans to reduce the bezels and slightly increase the screen size.
Apple increased the price of the iPad mini along with its other tablets in June. The 128GB model now starts at $599, although it’s possible Apple could raise the price again with such a significant upgrade.
