Just like GeoGuessr, it’s all about looking for small clues. Car models can tell you a certain time period. A sign on the street could delimit the country. Clothing, hairstyles, buildings, landmarks, and even grain in the photo can help you get the point of the story.
I like TimeGuessr because it tests a slightly different set of knowledge than GeoGuessr. Knowing your geography is impressive, but being able to hit the mark based on your knowledge of history, pop culture, and your general sense of what different decades were like feels even more rewarding. And even when you fail miserably, you’ll at least learn something from the answer and context provided at the end.
TimeGuessr has different modes such as daily challenge, random games or community created games. There is also the option to create your own set of five photos and share it with friends. Go ahead and try it, it’s great and you will learn something too.
