Analogue today announced new versions of its Super Nt and Mega Sg retro consoles with a “reworked industrial design” and built-in wireless connectivity for controllers and accessories. Like the original versions, the new Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus are capable of playing Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges using an FPGA processor that perfectly recreates the functionality of Nintendo and Sega’s 16-bit consoles without the need for emulation.

While neither of the new consoles can play SNES or Genesis titles in 4K like Analogue 3D does with Nintendo 64 titles, the 1080p Super Nt and Mega Sg Plus add a USB-C port so you can power them with the cables you already use with your phone and mobile devices, and an additional USB-A port for other peripherals. Both consoles also feature built-in Bluetooth or low-latency 2.4Ghz wireless for connecting to gamepads without the need for an additional controller port dongle.

Wired controllers are still an option, and upgraded consoles can be turned on remotely using any connected gamepad as the primary controller. Analogue also says that game cartridges can now be hot-swapped without having to completely power down either console after exiting the game through a menu.

Both Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus will be available for pre-order starting October 19 at 9am PT/11am ET for $219.99 with shipping expected to begin in December later this year.
