X is introducing a new version of its web app that it claims is much faster than before, and is now rolling out the updated app “one country at a time” to registered users.

“Open a profile on X.com over a slow connection,” said lead engineer Yagiz Nizipli in a blog post about the changes. “In the old web app, you stared at the X logo for over 22 seconds before the first post appeared. In the new one, it appears in 2.7.” The post also goes into technical detail about how the updated app “replaces the three servers we used to run for people, search crawlers, and link previews with one.”

Security researcher Jane Manchun Wong posted that she had access to the updated app and said it “feels snappy, loads fast, and many parts are polished.”

The new app is now available for the offline version of X.com and for pages crawled by search engines, Nizipli said.
