Laptops feel different this year. I mean, literally. Advances in laptop materials are changing the rules of the game. Forget plastic versus metal. PC makers now compete on physical feel and there’s a whole new world of different metals and alloys to choose from.

Laptop chassis materials are something else today. I recently wrote about how plastic laptops are underrated: Plastic isn’t a bad material for laptops these days, and well-made plastic laptops have a comfortable, rubbery feel that doesn’t creak like they used to.
