Apple unveiled its latest Apple TV 4K, its first in four years, and it will be available starting Friday, November 13. It’s powerful, with the A19 chip (the now discontinued 2022 model has the A15 Bionic) and also features better wireless connectivity than its predecessor. Siri AI is a big part of this release, although it will work in beta on second-generation and newer Apple TV 4K models. The new Find My tracking feature works with the second-generation and newer Siri remotes.

It’s not cheap, costing $299 (double the original cost of the 2022 Apple TV 4K, until it went up to $249 a few months ago), but those who’ve been waiting a while for a new version to be released can pre-order now. Currently, the only place to invest is Apple, although other retailers are likely to follow suit.

For those who feel the upgrade isn’t what they expected, the 2022 third-generation Apple TV 4K is available refurbished through Apple for $209. It’s not a bad value, as it has many similar features (Thread connectivity, Ethernet, 128GB storage, HDMI 2.1, and more), although the A19 in the new model will ensure it feels snappy for longer than the 2022 model. That said, I recently bought the 2022 Apple TV 4K and it’s surprisingly fast.
