Instagram continues its expansion into living rooms with Instagram for TV, for Apple TV. The company began testing a version of the platform focused on Reels, live streams and other video content, expanded for a larger screen in December last year. Then in June, it launched a host of new features for the app, which is available for Amazon’s Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, and Google TV.

Now Meta is bringing the app to Apple TV, although there has been little fanfare. MacRumors Spotted an updated Instagram app in the App Store that added Apple TV to its list of supported platforms on October 23. Archived versions of the app’s page from October 18 list only iPad and iOS.

The app will likely be a major part of Instagram’s strategy going forward as it attempts to push longer-form episodic content and capitalize on the growing popularity of microdramas.
