If you’re a new user of Withings fitness tracking smartwatches or smart scales and want to sync and access your health data through third-party apps like Apple Health or Google Health, it’s going to cost you now.

According to a discussion on the Withings support forums discovered by MacRumorsNew Withings accounts created from October 13, 2026 onwards will require a Withings Plus subscription to use the “automatic sync with third-party apps” feature. The subscription costs $9.95 per month or $99.50 per year, but Withings devices come with a one-month free trial that includes the option to sync your data with third-party apps. When the test ends, syncing is paused but the data for those apps is not deleted.

Existing users who already have a Withings account created on or before October 12, 2026 will continue to have access to automatic syncing of third-party apps for free, according to official comments shared by a member of the Withings support team. And because the feature is tied to an existing user’s account and not a specific device, third-party syncing will still be available without a subscription if they purchase and register new Withings watches, scales or other hardware.
